In many traditional craft sectors, men have historically taken the forefront in block carving and printing. However, the vital role of women in the pre and post-loom processes cannot be overstated. At Mishkaya, we are proud to partner with women-led cooperatives who meticulously wash, dry, and finish every yard of fabric.
These women not only contribute to the household income but also act as custodians of age-old textile wisdom. We spent an afternoon with Sunita and her team, learning about their specialized techniques for fixing natural dyes and their hopes for their daughters' futures.
